Proyecto SALUD Heat Related Illness Mission A project with the Department of Agricultural Economics and Economics at MSU investigates the effect of occupational health policies at the state and national level in reducing heat related illness and fatalities among farm workers. While only two states in the nation have policies aimed at preventing excessive heat exposure in the United States, there is little evidence that the policies provide additional protection from the national recommendations. This analysis will employ an econometric approach to determine whether or not a federal heat prevention policy is warranted. ​ Learn more
